Jean Paul Gaultier SS2005 Fluro Appliqué Swim Shorts
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring/Summer 2005 show was a whimsical culture clash of provocative colour, wonderful tailoring and sexy cuts. Described by Mark Holgate of Vogue as being “one of his best collections of recent times,” quintessential Gaultier hallmarks, flowy fabrics, and meshes featured throughout.
To fit with the summery theme - where Gaultier even had models smoking on the runway - were colourfully trimmed swimwear undergarments that peeped and prodded in multiple looks as if to remind us that the clothes would eventually come off.
Typically provocative, these cropped black swim shorts feature unmistakable volt yellow appliqué accents and deliberate matching yellow trim along the seams. Constructed of a nylon/elastane blend, they have curved hems and feature the trademark Gaultier loop at the rear for easy hanging. Incredibly soft, with a turquoise mesh inner-lining, they scream attitude with a traditionally European copped style cut.
Similarly fluorescent-coloured swim and sportswear spread across both the men’s and women’s runways for the season.
