COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS SS2008 Mesh Raglan Long Sleeve
The show opened with three purple looks, while the womenswear presentation was also rife with purples.
Although ostensibly a simpler garment, this long sleeve features the experimental hallmarks that are synonymous with the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS line. The top’s main feature is its polyester raglan sleeves with small perforations for increased breathability. Raglans typically create a more flexible underarm and are conducive to layering - a focal point of the collection.
The darker mesh sleeves contrast against the soft purple cotton base and extend to the collar, with the trim continuing across the garment’s “v” neckline. This trim offers a variation on the piping seen on the runway. The long sleeve is completed with an asymmetrical, curved hem - another playful addition from Kawakubo.
