PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

The beginning of the 21st century marked a shift in approach for Yohji Yamamoto. The master tailor detected a desire for a more casual, athletic approach to high fashion - an inkling that gave way to the first high fashion / sneaker collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas for Autumn/Winter 2001.

The season prior however, Yohji had already teased at the potential of sports couture with his SS2001 Pour Homme collection. Synthetic track jackets and cargo pants were layered with complex tailoring and beautiful floral shirts, whose patterns later informed the first sneaker that Yohji produced with Adidas - the Tenet Flower.

This jackets sleek, colour blocked design featured in several looks, and was an understated key piece. Likewise, its purple base colour was one of few non-neutrals, and was complementary to Yohji’s iconic florals. Despite its athletic-inspired cut, this was no ordinary track-and-field uniform. Constructed from an unusual rayon/polyester blend, the jacket is the perfect lightweight sports fabric and the ideal representation of sports couture. It features two slash pockets, contrast grey sleeves, and a black high collar and hem with a zip closure.
