Spring/Summer 1994 marked Moschino’s 10th anniversary, and Franco Moschino’s last. In his short 10 years, the irreverent designer left a completely unique and unforgettable mark on the fashion industry. His final collection was perhaps his most memorable - elegant, artisanal, raucous, satirical, hilarious, and thought provoking, all at once. The designer himself sat in the front row, watching the madness ensue.

Already disillusioned with his industry and the state of the world, Moschino used his collections as social commentary long before any of his contemporaries.

For SS1994, many pieces like this tie were printed with seemingly abstract pinstripes and numbers that formed barcodes - a subtle jab at over consumption and its effects on nature. The tie is constructed from smooth silk, with its large satirical graphic featuring on both ends atop a pinstripe leafy green base.
