Moschino 1990s Embroidered Watch Motif Silk Shirt

Established in Milan in 1983, Franco Moschino’s designs were renowned for being over the top, jovial and satirically postmodern. The acclaimed Italian designer believed “fashion should be fun, and it should send a message.”

This silk button up shirt displays Moschino’s signature extravagance. Possibly from the 1995 Alice in Wonderland collection, it is made of a lightweight white silk base and features a striking watch motif.

Various watches are embroidered down the shirt at diagonals, poking fun at the pocket watch; and playing on the notion of time. Each watch face is monochromatic and elegant while the bands are ornate; detailed with elaborate faux pearls and thick, stately gold gloss embroidery.

The shirt features typical 90’s tropes like exaggerated shoulder pads and cropped sleeves; and is finished off with prominent gold hardware, typical of Moschino.

Made in Italy.
