Kenzo Jungle 1980s Wild Collage T-Shirt

Hailing from the 1980’s, this top is an iconic and rare example from one of Kenzo’s earliest lines, “Kenzo Jungle,” a line that was typified by overt prints in wearable garments.

It features a complex collage of floral, jungle and artistic imagery with a vibrant array of colours that appear almost three dimensional. Individually, these prints are a typical motif of Kenzo’s body of work, evident right from his first store, “Jungle Jap”. The t-shirt itself is constructed from a lightweight stretch cotton, that gives off a slight sheen when worn in the light. No darting is used to ensure that the fit is relaxed and free, a common theme in early Kenzo Jungle designs.

In 2016, this style of print was reissued across several silhouettes including jackets, sweaters and t-shirts for Kenzo’s immensely popular collaboration with H&M as homage to the iconic original designs. This collaboration sold out across stores.
