PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Issey Miyake’s Spring/Summer 2002 womenswear presentation at Paris Fashion Week was a multi-faceted one. At its core, the collection centered around nature and recycling. Colours were wide-ranging, with earthy hues and graphics featuring heavily, often abstract and digitally printed. Accessories were prominent and made up of an assortment of plants, flowers and vines as though the models had walked through an enchanted forest before stepping out onto the runway - collecting fairy-like ephemera and flora on their way. Takizawa himself had a flower in his ear for his final bow at the end of the show.

While not appearing on the runway directly, this blouse drew direct reference from many of the looks and themes. It is constructed from the brand’s trademark crinkle pleated polyester, with each crinkle carefully formed to resemble a flower. At random points throughout, delicate white embroidery appears, further highlighting the blouses' unique three-dimensional pattern. It is also as versatile as it is beautiful - the lightweight, slightly stretchy structured fabric makes it perfect for trans-seasonal wear, worn open or closed. Meanwhile the collar can sit upright or folded down, allowing the option for an unusual silhouette.
