Issey Miyake AW2005 Baseball Stitch Cargo Pants

Designed by Naoki Takzawa, Issey Miyake Men’s AW2005 show came with a particular focus on practicality. Enter: cargo pants.

These are realised in the form of thick baseball-like laced stitching surrounding the pants’ cargo pockets, as if loosely binding them to the crisp white base. Further, the pants feature prominent darting at the front and rear, as well as adjustable bungee cords at the hem. They are constructed from thick canvas cotton, and are a wide and slightly cropped fit.

An excellent glimpse into Takizawa’s innovative utilitarian design approach at Issey Miyake.
