Hood By Air AW2013 Dual Zip X-Ray Sweater
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Hood By Air held their first ‘proper’ show for AW2013 - everything prior hadn’t escaped the bounds of a lookbook or within small circles of the internet. The label had found the acclaim it deserved when a handful of high profile celebrities rocked iconic HBA logo pieces to various events. To seal the deal, A$AP Rocky closed out the AW13 presentation adorning an oversized logo neoprene jacket.
From that same collection, this sweater is a quintessential example of Hood By Air from their prime. It features many of their defining characteristics, bundled into a wearable yet statement making package. The HBA logo is utilized in various sizes, twice on the front and one for each arm. Meanwhile, an x-ray skeleton print in monochrome adds a dark trompe-loeil element to the rear and sleeves. Perhaps most notable of all are the two extended zips columning down either side of the garment and falling at the knee, allowing the wearer to drastically shift the shape of the garment to their desire.
This piece was worn by rapper ‘Boychild’ on the runway, for whom the show was named. She demonstrated the modularity of the sweater, as well as the brands typically gender defying clothes.
