PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Renowned for his ability to mix classic, everyday pieces with ornately embroidered garments, Dries Van Noten has gone on to achieve much acclaim since launching his eponymous label in 1986.

His Spring 2002 menswear collection - like his women’s presentation - had a tropical aesthetic befitting of a relaxed summer holiday. Softly coloured, wearable silhouettes fell fluidly with fitted tops and roomier bottoms. Lighter fabrics, particularly linens were prevalent, featuring across formal and informal garments.

This blazer was seen on the runway in a slightly different shade of brown, both on its own and with matching pants to form a suit. Constructed of soft brown linen, it features a double button closure, single rear vent and hand-stitched black lining with delicate white stitching. A cream wool trim is hidden under the collar, allowing for the blazer to be worn with the collar popped.

The most commercially successful of the Antwerp Six, Van Noten prefers to design clothes that can both feature on the runway and be sold in stores. This blazer is a prime example of exactly that.
