COMME des GARÇONS AW2014 Floral Applique Sweater

Blending the gap between the runway and the everyday, COMME des GARÇONS COMME des GARÇONS, colloquially referred to as ‘Comme Comme’, was introduced in 1993 as the brand’s answer to the now defunct Comme des Garçons Robe de Chambre line. Much like its predecessor, Comme Comme’s purpose is to provide simpler, more functional pieces for women with the signature Comme des Garçons flair, not dissimilar to its male counterpart, Comme des Garçons Homme.⁣

The clothes were comfy and conceptual in the Comme Comme Autumn/Winter 2014 show, with muted colours and familiar hallmarks like tied bows and flattened rosettes nodding to the brand’s codes. ⁣

This sweater features a series of three dimensional rosettes embroidered in a diagonal line on the left chest. Similar embroidery was evident throughout multiple runway looks. The elaborate floral shapes provide a feminine touch to an otherwise androgynous silhouette. The sweater bears a round neck with an unfinished seam and slightly exaggerated sleeves. Manufactured with a mid-weight lambswool knit that is perfect for all-year-round wear.⁣
