COMME des GARÇONS AW1997 Stretch Rave Singlet

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

COMME des GARÇONS’ Autumn/Winter 1997 collection was titled, “Adult Punk.” Models were covered in stark white make-up with heavy, dark eyeshadow; black hair and slicked mohawks. Rei Kawakubo’s creations had a futuristic feel with simpler designs that featured stripped back elements and hints of deconstruction. Colours pierced and intricate weavings stood out on the monochromatically coloured models. The purple that envelops this singlet featured in the latter part of the runway, appearing in 5 back-to-back looks, following on from shiny golds and reds that featured prior.

Constructed of a high-stretch synthetic blend, this singlet has a gripping skin-tight fit with inspiration drawn from the youthful high-vis freedom of rave culture. A striking genderless basic.

Made in Japan.
