Gucci x Tom Ford 1990s Horsebit Flared Jeans
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
When Tom Ford was appointed as creative director of Gucci in 1994, the brand was at an all time low. For his debut show, Vogue’s chief critic Sarah Mower recalls that Gucci’s marketing team was practically begging publications to attend - by the following season, journalists were begging to be let in. Ford’s purely gratuitous sexual image for the brand was ground-breaking, and finally Gucci had a unique story to tell.
These jeans hail from Ford’s earliest collections at Gucci and are printed with the brand's traditional horsebit graphic first conceived in 1953, though here on a far more contemporary figure-hugging, high-waisted and flared silhouette. Quintessentially Tom Ford, they feature engraved tonal gold buttons and rivets, as well as a large leather logo patch at the rear.
