Miuccia Prada set the tone for her Spring/Summer 2008 Miu Miu show with its opening look. The bright red satin cape paired with a black mini skirt evoked an underlying air of scandalous innocence, as if Little Red Riding Hood were all grown up. Considered Prada’s more youthful line, Miu Miu’s collections often play with this polarity of scandal and innocence, the same concept that informed the basis of this jacket.

The same Little Red Riding Hood motif is present in this jacket but in a much more wearable form. The ultra cropped silhouette and fire engine red base makes for a cheekily eye-catching statement piece, staying true to the collection’s overarching theme. Two miniature pockets above the hem provide somewhat debatable functionality (only big enough for your house keys), though are a fun point of interest all the same. It features a versatile hidden snap button lapel, and is constructed from a lightweight technical polyester blend.
