Maison Martin Margiela SS13 Knee-High Open-Toe Boots
As seen in Look 22 of Maison Martin Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2013 show, these boots are a unique style for a classic Margiela item: the leather boot.
Leather boots have been synonymous with Margiela since the very beginning. His now iconic Tabi rendition debuted on the feet of the first ever Margiela model, to much furore in his seminal debut show in 1988. Now, 32 years on and Margiela boots are coveted the world over and regarded as arguably his most iconic silhouette.
These black leather boots are from Margiela’s ’22’ line and feature a dramatic knee-high upper juxtaposed with an airy open-toe design. They sit on a leather covered 3.5 inch semi-wedge heel and bare a thoughtfully placed fold along the front and a thin toe strap. Striking in their simplicity, they have a supple leather interior; a Margiela branded white insole; and classic brown leather sole with the iconic ‘Vero Cuoio’ stamp, meaning ‘Real Leather’ in Italian.
